POWER CUTS IN MY AREA

How this website uses data

The postcode checker sends a Great Britain postcode to Postcodes.io to look up geographic information. Postcodes are submitted in the request body, not placed in page URLs, and are held in a temporary memory cache for up to 15 minutes. Northern Ireland postcodes are not sent to that service.

Viewing the map requests background tiles from OpenStreetMap. Its servers receive connection information such as your IP address, the tile areas being viewed and our website origin. The full postcode is not sent to OpenStreetMap. Map data refreshes while the page is visible. There is no map analytics or advertising tracking.

Netlify hosts this website and processes connection information, including IP addresses, to deliver and protect the service. This release has no analytics or advertising trackers, no public accounts, and no report, subscription or enquiry collection.

An essential, signed CSRF cookie protects forms. It expires after eight hours. No postcode or household details are stored in the application database.

Power Cuts in My Area is an independent project owned by Luke Parker. Official network websites are external services with their own privacy information.
